Gogal

The Galaxy platform concept reimagined in Go — a fast, metadata-driven application framework with Desk, Studio and a multi-database installer.

What it is

Gogal is a full-stack, metadata-driven application framework written in Go. DocType JSON on disk is the source of truth; the framework generates database tables, REST CRUD endpoints, a Frappe v16-style Desk, a visual Studio builder and code stubs.

Ships with a CLI installer and a web-based installation wizard supporting PostgreSQL, MySQL/MariaDB and SQLite3.

Vision

A developer-first, performant, self-hosted alternative for building database-driven business applications — a single binary, metadata as the contract, and the same product family as Galaxy (ERP, CRM, HRMS) built on top.

Features

Metadata-driven DocTypes

DocType JSON files auto-generate tables, APIs, stubs and validation.

Automatic REST CRUD

Create, read, update, delete, submit and cancel endpoints for every DocType.

Desk UI

Frappe v16-style list, form, report, dashboard and grid views with search and filters.

Studio builder

Visual DocType designer with field and permission editors and live JSON preview.

Multi-database installer

PostgreSQL, MySQL/MariaDB and SQLite3 with CLI and web wizards.

Stub scaffolding

Generates Go controllers, JS client scripts and test scaffolds.

13-right RBAC

Role-based access control across read, write, create, delete, submit, cancel and more.

Submit/cancel workflow

docstatus transitions from draft to submitted to cancelled.
